swimming?

I've watched the instructions on how to swim multiple times and I can't figure out how to swim! I trace the figure and all the character does is a smaal burst of speed and then they just swim slow. I always come in last place! HELP!

You have to do it the same as you do for the running. If the shape is a straight line, then rub from one side to the other as fast as you can. If it's a circle, then trace the circle as fast as you can over and over again. Do the same for whatever shape it is.

You have to press the L or R buttons when the hearth sahpe above your character runs low. Time it when the hearts is almost out and you will get a speed boost.

Draco324 answered:

Press L or R when your stamina's low to retain your speed. You might not be pressing it at the right time.

If this doesn't help...
Shadow, Mario, Luigi, and Blaze require tracing vertical lines.
Sonic and Yoshi have the same motion as running.
If you have trouble with Vector's tricky swimming style, just trace a circle in the middle of the figure 8.
