The animal shed made of fodder isn't very durable at all. In fact, it is very possible for it to fall even in a simple rain or snow. The lumber version will fall in heavy snow or thunder storms or hurricanes and the stone and gold lumber sheds will never fall in any weather. While it is cheaper to make the fodder shed, in the long run, it will cost less just to gather enough stone so that your animals wont die when the shed collapses and you wont have to rebuild and rebuy the animals lost.
