Question for Harvest Moon DS

I have a question: I was looking in the walkthrough for marriage and was wondering how does the love points work? Where do they get the numbers from and how do you figure out the numbers on the game.

Here's the chart:

0-10000 black
10000-19999 purple
20000-29999 blue
30000-39999 green
40000-49999 yellow
50000-59999 orange
60000 and up red

You need to buy the truth bangle from the casino window. Its 5000 medals, so thats 50,000g but it's worth it.

You get the Love Bangle by getting medels in the sprite casino(by the godess spring)then use your medels to buy the love bangle.after that use it and Friendship numbers and Affection points will be shown.give a girl presents everyday and the affection points will go up.(dont litter or they go down A LOT!)after you reach a certain number the heart color will change.8P

Each 10,000 point interval will change your girlfriend's heart color... The closer you get to red, the more she likes you!! Once you get to red, and have reached all other requirements, you can marry her!
