The thing is whenever I enter one of my animals into a contest (like cows and chickens) I always come last. So I would just like to ask if anyone has any idea about what it is that you need to do so that I don't come last?

Pamper your animals until they reach max hearts with you, which is about 8 if memory serves. That'll help your chances of winning.

It's a lot tougher in this version of the game to get the animal's heart levels up. The way to win contests is to make sure that your animal has at least 8 hearts and up!!!! I had 7 hearts and won third place. Talk to, brush, milk, shear... Your animals as necessary. Chickens are the easiest to raise to top levels. Good Luck!!
