Please help me. How do you get married? I want to marry the mermaide that Daryl keeps in his basement, but how do I get him to even unlock the basement door and show her to me? I go to his house all the time and bring him gifts, and he still hasn't invited me to see her. Also, how do I unlock the mines?

1. To marry the mermaid you need to give daryl fish any size
2. Go to the mines at 10 pm. It's easier to leave at 9pm on your horse to get there on time, then Carter will tell you to knock down the walls

Leia the Mermaid is a little tougher to marry since you need to gain entrance to the basement first!! Daryl is a sucker for fish... SO, if you give him 2 or 3 fish a day (he'll keep racking up the points if you keep giving him fish), you'll get into the basement in no time. I believe he needs 100 points. When this happens, just try to get into the basement door that's on the floor. You should be able to go down and see Leia. She likes fish a whole lot by the way.
To open the mines, you have to go to Flora and Carter's tent (not the dig site) after hours- around 10:00pm, visit, and then walk to the dig site. Carter will follow you and tell you to knock down the wall. You open all 4 mines that way.
I unlocked the mine by talking to carter in the morning and enter when flora is a about to enter it worked every time for me

What I did was just go in at around 10pm and Carter told me to knock the wall down!! Works every time!

First you go in at 10p.m. or whenever they said, then you only have to have your hammer with you. after the first mine is unlocked, go to the bottom and you can unlock the second mine the same way as the first.
