You find him in a certain area in Icegrip Plateau, hes by the place where you first get eaten by the whale
You will find mapo in icegrip plateau but clean every fossil you should find mapo
Usaully I found most of my vivosaurs with my fully upgraded sonar. It was easy to find mapo in icegrip plateu. Like Baryonyx said he is found in the area where you get eaten by the whale. Though on my fully upgraded sonar, I found mapo indicated with the (yellow) dots. It is a most common factor that people find fossil easier with a fully uprgaded sonar.
Though I am willing to send the remaining fossils of Mapo I have in store. This is how much I have so far:
Regular-24
Dark Fossil-24
Also these fossils that I send include all four of it's fossils. I don't need any fossil in return.

Mapo is found in the second area in Icegrip plateau. Wear the blue mask to help.
