As a kid, the biggest fish is around 10 pounds. When you're an adult, the biggest fish are around 18-20 pounds.

Apart from the Hyrule Loach, I think there are 2-3 big fish. They hang out either close to the log in the water, or near the 3 iron rods in the water.
You can stand on the log, or in the water near the rods, and cast out a short way. Then just jerk the lure left and right and reel it in slowly, and the fish should take the bait. If you do it right, you shouldn't need to reel it in much.

I think I was about to get the loach using this technique but it didnt work. all I need is a 15 lb. fish

also fish during the day for the big guys there too deep at night without the sinker lure
