I am in Flower Fields I just defeated the 3 lakitus and the yellow magikoopa I destroyed the machine on both sides, and it blew.....Now I am trying to grow the beanstalk that takes you up to the clouds...how do you plant the seed? There is no ! When I go to the patch of dirt :( Please Help!

You must go all the way to the right to the sun and he will jump into the sky. Then put soil, bean, water and voila, a beanstalk.

Talk to the big tree and he will say " don't you think you should plant the seed" and then you go over to the patch and put in this order 1.Soil, 2. Plant, 3. Water. I was like clicking A on the soil and was like why isnt it working and then I went over to the tree and he said that and then it grew. Be carefull though. Hint: be prepared for a boss at the top!
What if you did all the steps wrong and you don't have the water or soil
