Need For Speed Carbon is the first NFS I played since the original. All the old ones had very good reviews and faired well in the market so I thought I'd give this a try. Somethings were amazing and I loved parts of it. But to me, a lot more was lame and garbage worthy. I didn't see the hype in this game that was made up for all the other ones.
I really enjoyed the gameplay graphics. They were clean and crisp and didn't do anything weird (black holes, or magic boxes). The cars are amazing and really make the game worth looking at. All the different graphics for the cars are amazing. Customizing it all is fabulous compared to other games I've played.
This is the true highlight of the game in my opinion.
The only reason it gets a 3 is because I actually like 1 of the songs on it and it is clear. Outside of that it's dreadful. The sound effects are notthing to brag about, but they aren't as bad as music in the game. Speaking of the music (if one calls it) Only about 3 songs fit the racing style of the game. The other 27 seem out of place and are just really bad. Everytime I started my free roaming adventures I'd mute and turn on my stereo because the game is just that bad.
WAY TOO EASY. Is the gist of the following. The game took me 2 days to beat (career mode) All the bosses were easier than they should be, the races were easier and only racing 2 -3 guys is very lame. The race tracks are repetitive and it takes about an hour to see every track in the game. There's nothing interesting around and the minimum traffic makes it too easy.
This game was designed for an 8 year old to beat, not a teenager (which is it's demographic)
This game is good for renting for 5 days. You can experience it all, and if you play a lot of hours a day you might get 100% completion. I play a lot, but not as much as I could and in two short days I shot through career mode (100%) and the challenges (about half way through).
The courses are repetitive and once you've seen them a few times your done. It ends really quickly for a $40 game and you should probably go to Blockbuster and rent it and kick it's fender over a long weekend.
DO NOT BUY! RENT. This is a game I would never recommend anyone buy, but would tell all my friends to rent. The game will hold up for a good 5-7 days, but not much longer than that.
As you can see above I really didn't like this game. Im going to compare it to Burnout 3 because I just beat that before buying this, and NFS really doesn't hold racing flag to Burnout.
AGAIN! DO NOT BUY!!!
