My Time at Sandrock Beginner Cheats and Tips

My Time at Sandrock combines elements of farm life sims and role-playing games. You play the role of a new resident in a desert town which you build up by farming, gathering resources, crafting items, performing side quests, and exploring both dungeons and the ruins of the old-world cities. Our My Time at Sandrock Cheats and Tips will help you to progress in the game which is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

  • Gather Everything You Find

It is essential when you start out in My Time at Sandrock that you collect every resource you come across. This includes anything from fuel for your workshop machinery to craftable materials. It is important that you gather whatever you can find because, at some time during the game, you will discover a use for it.

  • Unlock More Storage

Inevitably while you are out exploring and gathering resources you will get the 'Inventory Full' message pop up on your screen. There are two ways in the early stages you can overcome this problem. You can either craft mini storage boxes at your worktable using 10 pieces of wood to give you an extra 15 slots for items back at your workshop or you can spend 10 gols to unlock a slot on your backpack.

  • Study the Menus

It is recommended that you spend time looking through the menus in My Time at Sandrock so you become familiar with the different aspects of the game. Doing so will enable you to see details of the following:

    • Your character's experience and stats
    • What skills can be unlocked
    • Relationships and important dates on the calendar
    • Detailed encyclopedia of the items
    • The reputation of your workshop
    • Where key locations are in Sandrock
    • Current missions and their rewards
    • What machinery can be crafted in the handbook and the materials required
    • Ecology
    • Geography you have found
    • Photos you have taken

There is also a tutorial that explains the basics which is worthwhile going through to get a better understanding of the game. Keep in mind also when you are going through the menus that there is a toggle on the pictures that enables you to see a description, where to find it, and its cost.

  • Get Rare Scrap from Eufala Salvage

The Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins has its own shop you can visit. The Eufaula Salvage is a business in Sandrock that mines ores and relics from the Paradise Lost ruins. Make sure you return there afterward as this is a good source to get some of the rarer mechanical, copper, and rubber scrap that is needed to craft things.

  • Mine Clay

During the early game of My Time at Sandrock you are going to run short on clay often. Avoid this from happening by not neglecting to mine the smooth textured dirt in the Eufaula Ruins. Don't just target ore nodes and relic parts when you are there.

  • Rent a Horse

During the first few hours of My Time at Sandrock you will receive a letter from Elsie asking you to visit her in the 'Learning to Ride' side mission. Once you complete this quest you will be able to rent a horse which will enable you to get from one place to another in Sandrock a lot easier and faster.

  • Build Two Recyclers and Furnaces

Breaking down scrap in My Time at Sandrock requires a recycler. If you build two in your workshop you will be able to speed up the process of breaking down scrap significantly which will make other crafting more efficient.

Your furnace is used for making bricks, glass and other handy resources which are required to make various things from your handbook so having two furnaces at your disposal in your workshop will also help move things along faster.

  • Stock Up on Fuel and Water for Machinery

You will need fuel to operate your machinery in My Time at Sandrock and it is essential that you are stocked up. This means gathering a decent supply of wood, dregs, or power stones or alternately going to the Eufala Salvage shop and purchasing it.

Water is required to keep your machinery cool when it is active and this resource can either be obtained by breaking down flora and collecting dew to make it on your worktable or by going to town and buying some at Water World.

  • Advert on the Billboard

Always have an ad running on the billboard by the stairs, the multipliers will make a huge difference over time as you complete commissions.

  • Check your Post

Get into the habit of checking your mailbox every morning when you wake up as there is the possibility that there is an item in one of the letters. Your mail also gives you the opportunity to build relationships which can lead to new missions. Some letters will require a response so check them carefully.
