Got a cheat or hot tip for this game? Found a secret, or a strategy for success?

Increase your Charm/Intimidate Skill

How you act in situations in Mass Effect Legendary Edition will determine whether you gain points toward your Paragon or Renegade alignment. The choices that affect your Paragon status will be those that are emphatic, kindhearted, and helpful while the decisions that affect your Renegade status will be dangerous, ruthless, or vengeful.

As you progress in the game, the decisions you make in either alignment will increase the skill level of your Charm and Intimidate abilities. Having a high level in either of these two abilities will enable you to unlock exclusive dialogue choices that will enable you to either calmly or violently resolve conflicts which can potentially save you a lot of time.

Always Upgrade your Gear

In Mass Effect Legendary Edition you will be able to make some great builds for your character with the weapons and gear that is available in the game. It is important however particularly if you are playing Insanity mode that you purchase upgrades whenever they become available in order to boost your equipment. Although this will involve tedious resource gathering, it is essential that you make sure you utilize upgrades and improvements to weapons and armor as often as possible.

Play the DLCs for Bonus Rewards

Mass Effect Legendary Edition has a rich story and interesting characters and the DLC content that is associated with the three games has now been spread organically throughout the game instead of being immediately available. This means in order to unlock DLCs, so you are able to resolve issues in the main game you will need to talk to everyone you encounter. Not only will playing the DLCs help you to resolve issues, they will also net you some great rewards which make them worthwhile playing when they become available.

Manage your Inventory

Although the inventory size in Mass Effect Legendary Edition has been increased, you still need to manage the Weapons, Armors, and Mods you acquire between Missions, Assignments, and explorations. If you exceed the allowable weight capacity the game will convert the items into Omni-gels.

It is therefore important that you manage your inventory and get rid of the lowest-tier weapons and armor before you exceed the weight limit. You can sell most of the items you have acquired for credits, which is the game's currency, to the Normandy Requisitions Officer. He is stationed in the SSV Normandy's storage section, immediately to the right side upon leaving the elevator, just forward of the Mako. If you make a mistake and sell something you did not mean to sell, there is always the possibility that you will be able to buy it back. Most vendors will keep the last 20 items you sold them, so you should be able to easily find it and purchase it again in the event of a mistake or later need.

Choosing Your Class

In Mass Effect Legendary Edition you have a choice of six different classes and each of them serves a particular need or playstyle. Ultimately your selection should be based on a class you enjoy, or a class you know you can play well. The different classes are listed below along with their general role in the game.

Soldier
The Soldier class is a weapons specialist designed around offensive play. This is the best class for beginners wanting a straightforward approach.

Vanguard
The Vanguard class combines elements from the Soldier and Adept classes. The Vanguard class are particularly proficient at close-quarters combat.

Engineer
The Engineer class is a support specialist whose tech powers can amplify shields, open locked crates, and keep mobs at bay.

Infiltrator
The Infiltrator class is a saboteur that utilizes combat and tech, they excel at sniping. If you are a player that like to keep enemies at a distance, the Infiltrator class is ideal for you.

Sentinel
The Sentinel class is a living shield that can soak up damage while providing versatile offensive capabilities with tech and biotic powers.

Adept
The Adept class is a Biotic specialist whose abilities will give you a range of options for managing enemies. This is the most difficult class to play as it requires lots of fine-tuning.

How to Heal

The main way in which you can heal in Mass Effect Legendary Edition is through the use of medi-gel, a substance that can be randomly found by searching the containers throughout the world or as drops when you defeat enemies. Keep an eye out for containers that have red markings and called 'medical kits' as these always hold medi-gel. To heal in the original Mass Effect game you simply press the 'Triangle' button on the PS4, 'Y' button on Xbox controllers, and 'V' on PC.

Healing in Mass Effect 2 and 3 is slightly different, in these installments collecting medi-gel is basically the same except instead of a button press to use it you must wait behind cover after taking damage until your health is replenished. You can increase the effectiveness of healing items such as medi-gel by putting upgrade points into medical research and spec in the Medic class direction. When medi-gel has been upgraded it can heal more HP and instantly restore shields. There are other ways in which to heal, but these are based on what abilities you acquire during the game.

Spend Time with Squadmates

In Mass Effect Legendary a squad is typically made up of three team members. This is Commander Shepard or Pathfinder Ryder and two squadmates they can select to accompany them on field missions, or while visiting one of the main civilized centers such as a station or planet. Make sure you spend time with the two squadmates you choose through dialogue or in their Squad settings/equipment menu to ensure they are prepared for the challenge ahead. A well-built team that works together will be more effective than a pair of random picks. Make sure you take advantage of these two characters as they can be surprisingly effective when used correctly.

Either go Paragon or Renegade

Mass Effect Legendary Edition features a Morality system, and it is crucial that you totally commit to either the Paragon or Renegade route instead of mixing the two as the decisions you make will heavily impact the opportunities that open up to you as you progress through the story.

The Paragon route is the more difficult of the two as it forces you to negotiate your way out of situations whereas the Renegade route always resorts to fighting. You will be able to easily spot the Paragon and Renegade options during conversations on the dialogue wheel, blue text represent a peaceful approach to resolving situations while red text indicates a more direct and dangerous path. You can keep track of your Paragon or Renegade in the corner of the screen.

Search the Battlefields

Make sure as you traverse the battlefields of Mass Effect Legendary Edition you take the time to search for useful items. Although this may seem tedious, it is essential that you continually stock up on ammo, resources, upgrades, and new gear. If you are playing on Insanity mode this is something you will not regret doing.
