• The Bracken

  Brackens, which are sometimes called flower men are entities that are known to appear in any Facility in Lethal Company. Bracken is a monstrous creature that has glowing white eyes and fern-like spines on its back and stalks its prey from the shadows. It will patiently wait shrouded in darkness until a crew member has strayed away from the rest of the party and will suddenly viciously attack from behind and drag them away to hide the corpse in its lair.

  If you do happen to spot a Bracken in the shadows stalking you you mustn't look at it for more than a couple of seconds. If you stare at it for any longer than five seconds it will treat it as a sign of provocation and relentlessly start hunting you which is something you will want to avoid happening.

• The Bracken Room

  If the Bracken manages to kill a crew member by snapping their neck it will drag the corpse to its lair, often referred to as the Bracken room. Contrary to popular belief this is not an empty room with brown walls and a metal floor but a completely random place.

• How to Locate the Bracken Room

  To avoid the player death penalty you will need to retrieve the corpse of the crew member the Bracken has killed and dragged away and hidden in a random room somewhere in the Facility. The easiest way to determine the location of the Bracken room is by monitoring from the ship.

  When a Bracken is killing a crew member you will observe a frantic movement pattern. This will be the Bracken's red dot approaching your crew member's blue marker. What follows next are both dots rapidly moving toward a room on the other side of the Facility. This destination, where the dots stop, is where the Bracken has left the body of the crew member it has killed.

  To reach your slain crew member you will need to journey all the way there and you will find this significantly challenging as you will face a lot of other monsters that are lurking around along the way, and there is always the possibility the Bracken might attack your party again. It is recommended that you weigh the risks and go for this dangerous quest only when strictly necessary.
