Introduction

I finished the game on all difficulty levels and I have to say that the storyline is great; the interaction between the characters allows you to use the plot to decide your favourite character and treats you to a good story as well as a bit of a laugh. I played Killzone online and its more popular than rainbow six but I dont think its as good, heres why:

Rainbow six has an amazing team element, where you rely on you team-mates to cover your back. In KZ, teamwork can quite easily end up with all of your team-mates dying. Health-on KZ, you dont really have enough hp to run right up to enemies and kill them close range, but its damn near impossible to stand still and cover positions

Tactics- because of reasons 1 and 2, there is very little opportunity to implement tactics in game, other than the obvious "you go there" or get the hell out of my way. This makes the online mode neither tactical nor full on action and stops it from reaching it's full potential online by confusing you.

Graphics

I think that Killzone's graphics are great. However, it often seems like the game struggles to keep up with the high graphics, sometimes giving the impression of lag. Then again, it might just be so maybe you could find a way to tell me if it's just me.

Sound

The entire game sounds amazing. The sound is just right. I really don't need to say anything else, but I will anyway. The guns all sound cool and it's brilliant when you mow down Helghast with the ISA chaingun. The Helghast voices are cool and they actually sound evil

Gameplay

The levels are often huge but you do find the odd small level to keep you from getting bored. The guns take some getting used to because of all the differing recoil and the varying accuracy, but when you get used to them it is, it's great fun to play. The battlefields mode is great, on and offline. Offline there is a brilliant selection of game types and you can share the fun with another player. Online however, the game broadens to allow up to 16 players, which is much better in some ways but not as good in others

Lastability

I think that this game does not last very long when compared to other first person shooters. The story mode is much too short and could do with a few more levels and characters. Luckily the quality of the levels that are there make up for the abrupt story mode.

Overall

Overall, I reckon that if it could just make the online mode better, it would be full marks all around. Playing Killzone online, however, is still fun and is a game deserves a high score. Thumbs up to the guerrilla team for doing a great job and I'm looking forward to Killzone 2.

Final Score: 86%
