What are secret codes and what do they do on skylanders battle grounds?

The secret codes are codes which will enable you to play on any skylanders game(except for the game which is on the video game consoles)so that you don't have to waste gems by purchasing them in the store. The secret codes allow you to play the skylanders that you have for free without buying them with gems.
