Question for LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4

I'm playing on an iPad, Spider Hollow, Year 2. I cannot figure out how to get past the first forest area. I defeat the little spider on the island and get the fertilizer potion. Then I fertilize the plant and climb up onto the higher area with the trees and the chasm you have to get across. How do I cross it? Do I need to access the area with the half bridge first? How do I do that?

Yes, you need to shoot the branches that are under the "half bridge". Then you can go across to the other side.
