How do you use your gifts? And how do you receive gems?

To use your food gifts: Click on Main, then My Gifts, the on any food gifts shown there. Food will automatically be placed on an available counter. If you don't have one available, you can buy one. You receive gems as you continue to bake a particular item. There are four levels you reach, one at a time, as you bake more and more of the same item. You receive one gem when you complete level 4.
