One of the best introductions to a first person shooter yet. Straight into actions, no controll check and training, just lead straight to a Brute with his little minnons. It was captivating listening to Cortana talk about Master Chief as he yet takes another death defying leap. Was well executed for me and other Halo fans after the wait from a disappointing Halo 2.
The gaphics of the environment, characters and vehicles were flawless. I haven't and hope not to see any glitches. The detail of Master Chief and Brtue Chieftan was outstanding. The environment was also very good with detail going into little things such as the grass.
Nothing sounds better than the Halo sound tracks. Played throughout the game and in game movies and also have a track or two at the main menu. The only thing (to my knowledge) that I missed out on was the sound track that featured the awsome guitar solo that was in Halo 2.
All the action in the gameplay was fantastic. New weapons such as the Gravity Hammer and Spartan Laser braught new gameplay for vehicle and close combat. The detachable turrets and missile launcher was yet another added bonus. They also braught in new vehicles to enjoy splatter kills and team battles in. The coolest factor probably is each AI have there own dialog and when alone and confronted can say some hilarious stuff. The campaign was abit short but then solo play on legendary did take me awhile.
As with halo 1 and 2 this game definitely has lastability. Multiplayer Halo will continue to provide the backbone for Xbox. New levels, new guns and new vehicles will provide a new environment to keep the same first person shooter alive. Not only is the campaign itself outstanding you can now do it with four of your mates so I believe Halo 3 will have a long life to it.
Overall I do believe this game diserves a 100% rating. Bungie could not have closed off the trilogy any better. The gameplay, music, environment and infamous characters make this game as good as it is. For the non-halo fans it is definitely worth it to give it a good try and you may one day understand why this game is such a spectacle.
