Introduction ---------------- Welcome to this Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Boss FAQ. As you may have gussed from the title, this FAQ is designed to help you emerge victorious over all of the bosses in the Hero, Dark, and Last Stories. So, without further ado, let's start covering these bosses! --------------------- 2. Hero Story Bosses --------------------- This section of the Boss FAQ covers the bosses that you will encounter as you play through the Hero Story of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Let's begin! ----------------- BIG FOOT Difficulty: Easy Character: Sonic ----------------- At the end of City Escape, the first level in the Hero Story, Sonic has to fight a security robot called Big Foot. As the robot flies around the area, make sure you're running so that you can avoid the shots fired at you from above. After several rounds of fire, Big Foot will land and fire missiles at you. These are not hard to avoid; just keep running and you'll be fine. After Big Foot is done firing missiles, quickly hit him with a homing attack. This will do damage. Do that a few more times, doding more missiles after each hit, and Big Foot will go down in a couple of minutes. ------------------------------ DR. EGGMAN Difficulty: Unbelievably easy Character: Tails ------------------------------ This boss is ridiculously simple. Just hammer away at the B Button and you will either hit Eggman with a long-distance blast, or a short-distance hit if he is closer to you. Either way, it should only take you a matter of seconds to beat Eggman this time around. --------------------------------- SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG Difficulty: Moderately difficult Character: Sonic --------------------------------- Shadow will confront Shadow after you complete Metal Harbor. Shadow has moves similar to Sonic's. He will run around and use the homing attack just like Sonic does. To do damage, you must hit Shadow with a homing attack from behind. If you try to attack from any other angle, Shadow will jump up and spin, knocking you away and leaving you open for an homing attack from your foe. Hit Shadow with three homing attacks to win. Be careful not to bounce up and into the water on the outside of the battle area, because if you do, you will lose a life. --------------------------------- KING BOOM BOO Difficulty: Moderately difficult Character: Knuckles --------------------------------- The first boss Knuckles has to go up against is a huge, scary-looking ghost. As King Boom Boo chases you around the circular platform, keep running away from him while avoiding the blue fireballs he throws your way. When King Boom Boo inhales deeply, he is going to breathe a huge stream of blue flame. When he does this, run around behind him and hit the little ghost there. It will drop the hourglass, opening a hole in the ceiling and letting light in. This will cause King Boom Boo to hide in the ground. Dig where you see his shadow to get him out, then chase after him and nail him with a punch or two. After another hit, King Boom Boo will start chasing you as he also threatens to chomp on you. At this point, he travels a lot faster, so make sure you are running as fast as you can. On the last hit, King Boom Boo will move around in both the ground and the walls, so make sure you keep him in your sights and dig where he is to get him out into the open before the hole in the ceiling closes. Hit the boss with one more punch to finish the battle. ---------------------------- EGG GOLEM Difficulty: Relatively easy Character: Sonic ---------------------------- At the start of the battle, it will be hard for the Egg Golem to hit you if you just make sure you keep moving. Make your way around to the golem's back and jump up the ledges there. Hit the gizmo on the top of his head to deal damage. Next, the Egg Golem will take both of his hands and sweep them across the circular platform. To avoid this attack, get down to one of the platform's lower levels and wait there until the hand sweeps over you harmlessly. After you jump up the ledges on the golem's back and score a second hit, the boss will slam his fists and his head down onto the platform. Run out of the way of this assault and continue to hit the gizmo on the top of the Egg Golem's head until it's defeated. ---------------------------------------- ROUGE THE BAT Difficulty: Harder as battle progresses Character: Knuckles ---------------------------------------- There is a possibility that you can finish this battle before the floor beneath you opens up, forcing you up into the air. If you don't do this, however, you may find this battle becoming incresingly difficult. Punch Rouge when he guard is down, and get ready for her to use her special attack. Start gliding when you hear Rouge say "Here I come!" If you do this correctly, you will completely dodge the attack. As you fight in the high platforms, you may find that Rouge starts climbing the walls to get away from you. If this happens, quickly hit her with a Drill Dive to knock her down and damage her. Continue to punch her or hit her with a Drill Dive until she goes down. ------------------------ DR. EGGMAN REMATCH Difficulty: Frustrating Character: Tails ------------------------ This fight is really tough. Eggman can use a deadly laser beam attack that is fired your way your way when Eggman cries out, "You're no match for me!" At this point, make sure you walk out of the way, and possibly hit Eggman while he isn't looking. When Eggman shouts, "Take this!" keep moving to avoid the missiles he fires at you. Keep firing at Eggman and make sure he takes more damage than you. If you are caught in his large laser special attack, you are likely to die, so dodge that attack at all costs! Make sure that, if you do shoot a capsule in the center of the area, that you are not close to it, or else when it explodes, you'll take unwanted damage. Keep shooting Eggman while dodging his lethal attacks. When he's defeated, take a deep breath and get ready for a showdown against Shadow. --------------------------------- SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG REMATCH Difficulty: Moderately difficult Character: Sonic --------------------------------- This battle is not that hard if you keep running and don't get hit by Shadow's few attacks. Position yourself behind Shadow and hit him from behind with a homing attack just like you did back in your first battle against him. Do that again when you get the chance. Eventually, you will notice that, even if you try to use the homing attack on Shadow when you are behind him, he will also jump and spin to deflect it. Now, you must wait and let Shadow get far ahead of you. Shadow will then use his Chaos Spear special attack on you. Use a homing attack the second Shadow uses Chaos Spear to avoid the attack, then hit Shadow while you can. As the battle progresses, if you get too far ahead of Shadow as you run down the path, Shadow will say "This is the ultimate!" and will automatically warp ahead of you. Continue using the homing attack to damage him after he uses Chaos Spear to emerge triumphant in this fight. --------------------- 3. Dark Story Bosses --------------------- This section of the Boss FAQ covers the bosses that you will have to fight as you progress through the Dark Story of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Here we go! ------------------ HOT SHOT Difficulty: Easy Character: Shadow ------------------ This boss battle is exactly like the fight between Sonic and Big Foot in the Hero Story. Run away from the shots Hot Spot fires at you, and then dodge the missiles. Hit him with a homing attack after he's done firing the missiles. When Hot Shot charges up to fire a huge blast at you, a targeting marker will appear on the ground. As long as you continue to run around, the marker won't target you, and the attack will miss. Continue to hit Hot Shot with homing attacks in between his assaults. ------------------------------ TAILS Difficulty: Unbelievably easy Character: Eggman ------------------------------ This fight will seem familiar if you fought Eggman as Tails in the Hero Story. Just keep pressing the B Button to hit Tails with either long-distance blasts or short-distance attacks when Tails is close enough to you. This battle is a piece of cake. You should be done here in about ten seconds. ----------------- FLYING DOG Difficulty: Easy Character: Rouge ----------------- This boss is similar to both Big Foot and Hot Shot. The only difference here is the fact that Flying Dog never lands. So to deal damage to him, you must glide into him. Like the battle against Hot Shot, Flying Dog will charge up a large blast, at which point a targeting marker will appear on the ground. Keep moving to avoid getting targeted, and glide into Flying Dog whenever you get the chance. --------------------------------- SONIC THE HEDGEHOG Difficulty: Moderately difficult Character: Shadow --------------------------------- You will soon realize that this battle is exactly identical to the one in Hero Story, except now you are fighting Sonic. Hit him with a homing attack from behind or else Sonic will deflect your assault and possibly send you into the water outside the battle area, resulting in you losing a life. Hit Sonic three times to win. ------------------------ EGG GOLEM Difficulty: Challenging Character: Eggman ------------------------ Perhaps this battle would be a little bit easier if you were someone other than Eggman, because when you play as Eggman, you must keep your health meter from depleting. Anyway, make sure you avoid as many of the Egg Golem's attacks as possible to avoid losing too much health, and then press the B Button to fire at the boss. Eventually, one of the golem's weak points will be revealed. Shoot it to cause damage. Shoot the golem some more to reveal its other weak points, and destroy them to win this fight. ---------------------------------------- KNUCKLES Difficulty: Harder as battle progresses Character: Rouge ---------------------------------------- This boss battle is exactly the same as the one Knuckles fought against Rouge in the Hero Story. Attack Knuckles as much as you can before the floor beneath you opens up. If you are lucky, you may be able to defeat Knuckles before the floor even opens. If not, be prepared to dodge Knuckles's special attack. Glide to avoid it and look for Knuckles. If he is climbing on the walls trying to retreat from you, you can damage him with a Drill Dive. Hit him as much as possible and you will eventually beat him. ------------------------ TAILS REMATCH Difficulty: Frustrating Character: Eggman ------------------------ Just like the battle against Eggman in the Hero Story, this fight is really hard because of Tail's deadly laser attack. Watch out for it and attack Tails while he has his back to you. Also, be prepared to keep moving to dodge missiles that will be fired at you. Hit Tails repeatedly with your own attacks to overwhelm and defeat him. --------------------------------- SONIC THE HEDGEHOG REMATCH Difficulty: Moderately difficult Character: Shadow --------------------------------- After you've completed the Final Chase level, Shadow will fight Sonic in a showdown. This battle is just like the one in the Hero Story, except the enemy here is Sonic. Hit him with a homing attack from behind to score the first couple of hits. When Sonic starts deflecting your homing attacks, let him get ahead of you. When he uses Sonic Wind, dodge it then hit Sonic with a homing attack while his guard is down. Do that a couple more times and he's down and out. --------------------- 4. Last Story Bosses --------------------- The Last Story has two bosses for you to battle. Both of them are really tough, but if you read this section of the Boss FAQ, you'll be armed with the knowledge you need to outwit these powerful foes. Here we go! ------------------------ THE BIOLIZARD Difficulty: Frustrating Character: Shadow ------------------------ It's the prototype of the ultimate life form, against Shadow, who is THE ultimate life form. When this epic battle starts, run away from the Biolizard as his head move towards you. After a bit, the Biolizard will pause. Grind on the rail and head up to the life support system. Homing attack it to do damage to the boss. After the Biolizard's head moves toward you again, he will then start shooting black energy spheres at you. To dodge the one on the ground, you must jump. To dodge the ones in the air, roll under them. Grind up the rail and hit the lift support system with another homing attack. Do this a third time. Now after you have dodged more dark energy spheres, the Biolizard will be surrounded by multiple red balls. Homing attack these to make your way upward. When you have a clear shot of the life support system, strike it with a homing attack. For the final hit, you must make your way back to the life support system while doding the red balls. When you hit the system a sixth time, the Biolizard will be defeated. ----------------------------- THE FINAL HAZARD Difficulty: Challenging Characters: Sonic and Shadow ----------------------------- This is the final boss battle of the game. It's Sonic and Shadow against the prototype of the ultimate life form. Make your way over to the boss by pressing either the A or B Buttons. Pressing the A Button makes you ascend gradually, and pressing the B Button makes you descend gradually. Aim for the red swelling area on the boss and attack it. You will then switch to Shadow. Ascend and descend to avoid the lasers and the red balls as you continue to damage the boss. Delivering the final blow is a pain, because two sweeping lasers AND a large amount of red balls threaten to send you back into space. Dodge all of these obstacles and use the A or B Button to home in on the boss's swelling area. Once you've hit the boss six times, he will be defeated. Congratulations! You've beaten the game and saved the world! ------------------ 5.
