There isn't a best charecter. The top charecters though are Ganondorf, Roy, Marth and Yoshi.

Yoshi no questions asked,use flutter kick on the bag then do a homerun swing you will hit at least 1,000feet

I used fox I'm kinda new at this game use B attack until the sand bag Damage is about 75% then smash-A then he'll hit the sand bag around 1009 feet
If fox puts his gun up before the sand bag takes 75% damage it will not work

Yoshi. Yoshi has the Flutter Jump, which, when used correctly along with the Home Run Bat, can go up to 1500 feet if not more.
Oh, and Yoshi unlocks a stage for VS Mode.
