Yes you can. Mewtwo is unlocked by: 1)Playing in Verses Mode for 20 hours or 2)Playing 700 Verses Matches. After either requirment is met, Mewtwo will challenge you.

No no no you have to be in a vs mode the easyest way is to do two player stck and never kill the other person then tomorrow kill 2p and then get mewtwo.

You need 2 controllers for this to work the best. Go to multiplayer mode. Activate stock mode with only one life. Then choose P1 and P2(no CPUs). Start the match and then just turn your TV off(not the gamecube and do not press pause). Wait 24 hours. Then turn your TV on and beat P2. You will then fight Mewtwo. If you lose you can still fight him after every multiplayer match against a CPU.

2. You have to have 4 players fighting when you leave it on all night. Ex. Your first player and have 3 computer players fight. Put infinite time limit and then leave it on all night. If that doesn't work, then you can always go for the 700 vs. Matches. Have fun = )

Mewtwo will appear at random at the end of a multi-player match and challenge the winner. He will be unlocked as a selectable character after he is defeated. Alternately, play 20 hours in melee vs. Mode (combined number of human players times the number of hours). For example, if you play 1 human player vs. 3 CPU players, play 20 hours; 2 players vs. 2 CPU players, play 10 hours; 3 players vs. 1 CPU player, 7 hours; 4 player vs., 5 hours. To get Mewtwo easily, go into Custom Rules Melee and change "Stock" to "3" and "Item Flow" to "None", and "Stock Time Limit" to "Off". Choose two of your best characters (for fighting Mewtwo) and go into a match in the Pokemon Stadium level. Place both fighters on the Pokeball in the middle. Do not pause the game. Unplug the controllers, and leave the system on overnight to accumulate game time. Plug in the controllers again, and have one of the fighters die three times. If enough hours have been accumulated, Mewtwo will challenge you. Defeat him to unlock him as a playable character.

Just play 20 Hours of Tag Team Play in Versus Mode.

Also you were suppose to leave it on while it was playing the match.

Leave it on all night ib vs mode but, this is important, TAKE THE CONTROLLERS OUT! They malfunction when they're in and nobody is controlling them. (or it could be a pet or sibling, maybe even a parent.)
