How do you beat the test of fear?

It's hard - it took me a few tries to do it too - most of it's pretty basic and easy - but you have to be ready for certain "scary" things to happen - then you just have to push the joystick full tilt toward the other side in which the bar is moving to put the bar back in the middle.
