Hiyah!! Eggman here has all the answers. Know why? Cuz I got the game guide. I got all the locations!! Halffish are unique animals. They are also very rare. I'd say the most effective area to find them is either Rouge's Egg Quarter's, and Knuckles' Pumpkin Hill. In pumpkin hill, the halffish is the special animal. It is always, ALWAYS, in the third chao container. If you aren't familiar with how chao container's work, well here's a small summery of how they do: 1st chao container contain's Key to chao garden; 2nd container has random animals which is based off of the types of animals that can be found on each stage; the 3rd chao container only contains one animal. But it is a rare animal. In pumpkin hill, the halffish is in the 3rd chao container. If you want a bunch of them, in like...1 or 2 minutes, (which is worth while) just go into the Pumpkin hill, destroy each chao container not picking up the animals in the 2nd container, and with each 3rd container collecting the halffish, then exiting the level, and starting over again. It takes about 20 seconds more or less with each collection if you got a good feel for the level.
