My chao dies and dies, because I always restart GameCube each time she dies. 2 questions:
1: How to prevent Chao deaths?
2: How old can my Chao be?

1.You cannot prevent a Chao's death except by being very friendly with a certain character(Doesn't matter which), or do the following.
1.Bring the dying Chao to the Classroom in the Chao Kindergarten.
2.Get all nuts from the Chao and Hero Gardens and put them in any garden.
3.Wait 10 minutes.
4.Bring the dying Chao where the nuts are.
5.Feed the dying Chao all the nuts and wait.
If the cocoon is gray, the Chao's life is over. If it's pink, then it will turn into an egg. Then you can raise it again.
2.Chao can only live for five Chao years(Which is 20 Human hours).

If your chao reaches the age of 5 years, it will not die if it's VERY friendly with the character you are playing as. Instead, it will go into a pink cocoon and re-spawn as a baby again. If you chao Re-Spawns twice, you will have the opportunity to turn it into either an Ultimate Hero, Demon, or Chaos Chao, by giving it ALL animals while it is still a baby.
A chao will always die if it's badly treated[it will pull faces at your character when you pass] and it's 5/6/7 years old. Hope this helped
You can be a lot nicer to your chao. Keep petting it, one day it will start out back as an egg and you can love on it again.
I think 10 but most chao die or reincarnate by then.
