I'm not sure quite what you mean, but as long as you stay in the shadows it will not kill you. As soon as you hear the buzzing sound or see the green or red light, GET INTO THE SHADOWS! That's all I know. Sorry. And I'm guessing you're talking about the level where you have to find the keys to get into eggman's base with Rouge. If not then I have no idea what you mean. =D
HUH? There are a lot of places with beetle robots, and a lot of places you "go down". Please tell where and hopefully, BE SPECIFIC.
