I've once heard you can obtain Mew in Pokemon XD. The Shadow Lugia probably should be snagable.

I know you can catch Lugia [Shadow Lugia ] but I'm not sure about the others.

Starter, lv 10 eevee
Teddiursa, ledyba, poochyena, Houndour, baltoy, spheal, mareep, gulpin, seedot, spinarak, numel, shroomish, carvahna, delcatty, voltorb, makuhita, vulpix, duskull, ralts, mawile, snorunt, pineco, natu, roselia, meowth, swinub, spearow, grimer, seel, lunatone, nosepass, zangoose, togepi, you can trade the shadow togepi back to it's original trainer for a elekid (non shadow), paras, growlithe, shellder, Beedrill, pidgeotto, tangela, butterfree, magneton, venomoth, weepinbell, arbok, primeape, hypno, golduck, sableye, raticate, dodrio, farfetch'd, altaria, kangaskhan, banette, magmar, pinsir, magcargo, rapidash, hitmonlee, hitmonchan, lickitung, scyther, chansey, solrock, starmie, ((32) for example means what level it is at)Electabuzz(43), Swellow(43), snorlax(43), poliwrath(43), Mr. Mime(43), Dugtrio(40), Manectric(44), salamence(50), Marowak(44), Lapras(44),
..................Lugia(50), Articuno, zapdos, moltres all at 50, tauros(46), Rhydon(46), exeggutor(46) and last... Dragonite(55). 83 shadow Pokemon in all. You can find wild Pokemon in the game, but I forgot how. Visit serebii.net for more info. I hoped I helped.

The only legendaries you can catch are Lugia, Moltres, Articuno, Salamance, and evolve larvatar into a Tyranitar*.

I HAVE the guide book so I know.

Rarest: Shadow. There are only 1 shadow of each species, and none for certain like pidgey (though there is a shadow pidgeotto)
Catch Jirachi: Yes. Trade with another version.
Catch Deoxys: See above.
Catch Mew: Not sure, but can catch in firered and leafgreen
Catch Celebi: Yes can catch it in XD, I have celebi but I forget how to get it
Catch Lugia: everyone talks about XD001. That's Lugia, and yes, you can catch it, though it is very difficult.
