Usually when you sell a badge to them, it will then appear in their buy menu... For a larger price than you received for it, of course!
Yep, it's safe to sell badges to them!
A Badge will sell for 1/2 of it's purchase price. If a Badge costs 100, you can sell it for 50. If you sell a Badge for 100, you can buy it back for 200.
