How do you get the timing down to hit the tandem switches in Petal Meadows to get into Hooktail's castle? There are rocks in the way and I can't get Koops to hit one at the same time I can. I can't get past this point. Thanks!

To find her you need to go to the trouble center and find a lost badge or elusive badge, and you'll meet her on the chef's roof, in order to get to the roof you have to go in the hotel and there will be a door on the left, if there isn't do the lost key trouble. After you see the mouse girl all you have to do is go to where you defeated the first boss which is in the tower in with the 'Tail. Well then you go to the middle and use the wind ghost, and you blow, then the paper will peel off, and there will be a elusive badge. Go back to the mouse girl and tell her that you found it. She'll join your party, and her ability is that she can smell items in the scene that you're in, not in another.
