Question for Paper Mario 2

I'm at the skull door and I put the stone in the hole. I know you have to throw the bomb guy in the hole above the stone. But how do you throw him into it?

You have to hit the blue rock and the red rock a certain number of times and battle the ghosts that come out of them - when you have done it the correct amount of times a drawbridge will open up above the skull rock and then you can throw the bomb guy in there and it will blast open the skull rock.
