Can somebody tell me why Action Replay codes don't work for this specific game?

Are you sure that AR codes really don't work on this game? Maybe your AR is screwed up, just like Samus is when she uses Screw-Attack. After all, I get alot of defective ARs and GameSharks, so maybe that is a factor... The quality of those things can be cheap, my friend.

They do work for this game, mate, but you are not alone, for several weeks I as stranded not knowing what the hell I was doing wrong.

It depends upon which version of Metroid Prime you have. The original release is version 1.0. The first Player's Choice edition is v1.1. There are different code sets for the different game release versions. I have the earliest release, and the codes for that version work perfectly, though you will have to disengage the item codes after you reach Tallon, or the game will glitch.

I have version 1.00 and only certain action replay codes work infinite missile code doesn't work and if you have like for example the morph ball action replay code enable you should have it all the time but it get taken away from you after the first part of the game
