Is there really a Shadow Mario because I read you can get him by pitching a perfect game but I did it and no Shadow Mario.

No. You can't get shadow mario because I have it done 2 and the characters slots are all full

I got this guy named purple peach by pitching 27 straight strike outs
There is not the option to unlock shadow mario, and certainly not "Purple Peach". There is, however, the option to unlock Shadow Mario in Mario Golf, Toadstool Tour. I think that someone may have confused the two games somewhere, thereby spreading this rumor.
To get Shadow Mario in super Mario Baseball, (A) You mod the game and get him that way, or (B) you complete all the challenges, and mini games.
