No you have to do either the solo, or multi player games to ulock them.

Start Party Mode with 4 CPU's, 25-50 Turns, and leave it while you're gone somewhere else or at night time. It'll give you a lot of time to relax while they do your work and possibly have a good chance of getting Battle Games. Hope this helps bro.
