Well, Nintendo originally meant for it to be a stable for your horse, but in the end they just stuck the horse in the barn. The shed just never got taken out. It's bit of a bummer answer as this is one of the biggest HM mysteries out there... But, that is the way things rolled.
And some thing the submitter above did not mention is that when you get the Chicken Yard, the shed disapears and becomes your chicken yard
No you can't open the shed. If you are playing Harvest Moon Another Wonderful Life, than you can order a chicken yard. Once you do that the shed will disappear and the chicken yard will take it's place.
On harvest moon another wonderful life they said on a cheat that at the ninth of winter save you're progress then take care of you're animals(this has to be at the 4th,5th,or 6th chapter)then you have to go to the shed and you are supposed to be able to go into it and there will be a note from you're dad so hopefully that is also for harvest moon a wonderful life
I don't think you can do it on a wonderful life because you eventually die don't you?
Its just a decoration,basically, don't waist your time on it (p.s. This is only for ps2 harvest moon it's a wonderful life.I don't know about the other systems.)
On havest moon a wonder ful life gamecube a married Muffy and I went to the shed to try to open it and it said a found a key so I held the key and I tried to open the shed and I unlocked the shed
