I can't seem to find a way to defeat the surveillance post in the obstacle course portion of the game? How can I get by the post to push the button?

To beat the surveillance post go to the cave wall opposite from the boor and press 'Y' you will go up against the wall and will be able to sidle pat the post and push the button.
