How do I get rid of the ghost in the dark tree? Where can I find the light?

Ok I am so sorry but it's a little hard to explain so I recomend looking up a walkthrough for this game. You should be able to find out. Hope this helps.
Go east from the brothers' shack and look for something glowing yellow behind a Sim-eating plant. You have to battle the plant (by pressing the A button a lot really really fast) until it lies down. Then nip in behind it and grab the light stick.
