Question for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team

I want to recruit Ho-oh but I think hes kinda hard cause when I first fought him I lost in the battle and I was a Charizard and my two partners was Raichu and Poliwrath and when I fought him again I defeated him and now I want to recruit him but without my 2 partners so I want to fight him alone. What lvl should I be to recruit him and beat him alone? I already beat him but this time I want to recruit him without my partner because I get more chance of letting him join my team. So I'm a lvl 55 Charizard now, what lvl should I be to recruit him and beat him with not problem?

My moves are

1)Ember
2)Dragon Rage
3)Heat Wave
4)Flamethrower

You just go and use Flamethrower when the battle starts. Then use any move except Dragon Rage to defeat him. You can also use some seeds you found along the way (there are lots of seeds at Mt. Faraway) to make it incapable of attacking you in a few turn, that's when you strike him to death.
About your level, it's high enough, just go and beat him, he will join you at once as his base recruit rate is 99.9%.

Ho oh is level 50 and will join the 2nd time you beet him (make sure you battle ho oh alone as a small pokemon.) use all 3 to get to floor 40, then make which ever on the leder

I agree with nhahtdh...
Flamethrower,Dragon Rage,Dragon Rage,Dragon Rage,
Then if you're pp is 0 then just collect sticks/iron thorns/Silver spikes then throw... But gravelerocks and geo pebbles do almost nothing but 20 fixed damage

then go in again, but bring 1 Pokemon that matches your level and has 1 star team size(preferred Mew)
