Question for Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

Hello -

I just got done beating Bowletta/Cackletta. I got out of the castle and everything, but I am confused because after the credits roled, all the game did was restart itself and I was back at the main door of Bowser's Castle with Cackletta unbeaten, and when I went back to BeanBean castle - everything was still a mess there: BUT I HAD JUST BEATEN THE GAME! Is the game supposed to do this, or is it not normal? Is there a way where I can really, truly BEAT the game?

There is not way to truly beat the game.
When you beat bowetta it shows the credits and restarts at the last save book
