How do I use food as a gift? It makes me automatically eat the food I buy when I want to give it to grey :/

??umm, are you tslking about the food you BUY on Doug's place, since you CANNOT give it to anyone, to give food to someone else you need to MAKE it on your own, so if you want to give food to gray you need to make the food not buy the food.
Yeah, you can't give people food you buy from the Inn or Kai's Seaside Lodge. You have to make your own.
I assume it is a mistake in the game.The description for some of the food says "eat or use as a gift" but this is not the case. I understand where you were confused though.
