You must connect with the GameCube and connect to Harvest Moon Another Wonderful Life. Van will come to your town every Wednesday or Monday (I can't remember which...)

Apparently, by getting Van, you should be able to at some point of time to by a TV remote from him, which you can sell for a big profit.
And the other thing, Gotz doesn't stop working after 10 years. He may take a break, but he'll eventually start working again.
Ten years has nothing to do with anything.
