Yes, the stages are black, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, light red, then dark red. Oh and to get Cliff up to a red heart fast buy the pot off the TV shopping network. Then buy like a lot of curry powder and rice balls. Then make curry rice!!! This is how to make curry rice.

P.S. I got Cliff to a red heart using this tip in about... 2 SEASONS!! Also show him your dog too. He loves dogs!!!!! Hope I helped!!! Gamefreak18 out!
