Question for Golden Sun

Hi, guys! Say, I got the game Golden Sun a while ago, and I start a game, and just when I make good progress, I can't save the game! It keeps saying "unable to detect backup memory"...WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN??!!!

Anywho, if you guys can kindly help us fix this problem, I'd be very much obliged.

May the Force be with you, gamers!

Well unfortunately it probably means that the external save feature has stopped working which in turn makes the game fairly useless as you won't ever be able to save again. This happened on my Pokemon game as well. It's not your fault and there's no way to fix it, it just happens with some gameboy games after a while.

Yeah, I'd have to agree, but I think it actually means the battery has gone flat in your game cartridge... Likely since batteries don't last forever, you could always get the battery replaced, but it involves opening the game cart itself, and taking the old battery out and putting a new one in... The battrey itself shouldnt be too hard to get, just go to your local jeweller or watch/clockmaker, and I think some take small watch battries.

In fact you could probably take the whole cartridge in itself, and the jeweller may install it for you, too. They have small tools for that sort of job. And since your game is buggered anyway without being able to save, it would be worth a shot... Hey if it works, let us know, because it may help others to know that in case it happens to other people... Good luck!
