Tret is standing by the chain that lowers the bridge, but I can't figure out how to get him to lower the bridge. Thanks for any help you can give me!

To lower the bridge, you have to save Tret in Kolima Forest by fighting his evil self inside of him, then using the Water of Hermes on him. The Water of Hermes can be gotten after completing Mercury Lighthouse by using the Empty Bottle in Imil on the fountain at the base of the Lighthouse. Once Tret's healed the bridge worker will be able to lower the bridge.
You first need to defeat tret and go to the mercuray tower and get hermes water bring it to tret but first you will have to beat his evil on the in side of him and then leave him and give him the hermes water and he will turn the trees in to people then you can pass him
