How do you beat brock my pikachu is on level 12 and my pidgey is on level 11

Here is an easier way to beat Brock.

First catch maybe one or to grass or bug pokemon. (Grass would be better)
Level it up to at least level 15. Try to evolve your pidgey to pidgeotto at level 16 or 18. Pidgeotto should be much stronger than pidgey. If you get a caterpie, evolve it to metapod the butterfree. Teach it a strong grass attack. Or you can use some strong water Pokemon against geodude and Onix. Teach pikachu body slam.

For one thing, your Pikachu's Electric attacks are obsolete against Ground-type Pokemon like Brock's, and any physical attacks it and Pidgey know are near-obsolete because of the high physcial Defense that Brock's Rock Pokemon, and because of the fact that Rock is resistant to Normal type attacks.

In addition to that, Ground type attacks are supereffective against Electric Pikachu, and Rock-type attacks will pulverise your Pidgey, since Pidgey is a Flying type and Flying Pokemon can't tolerate Rock-type attacks. To top all of that off, Brock's Pokemon, being Rock/Ground types, increase the power of their Ground and Rock attacks by 50%, since those attack types match the Pokemons' types. So, you are at a <b>SEVERE</b> disadvantage and no hope of winning like this.

Fetch a Metapod or Capterpie and evolve it into a Butterfree, where it learns the Psychic attack Confusion. Bring it upon Brock's Rock Pokemon to defeat him.

many grass types will do my butterfree was at level 20 and then i beat him.....

Catch a mankey or a nidoran in viridian, then train them until they learn a fighting move. Mankey learns low kick at lvl9, and this is enough to take out geodude in 2 hits, if you keep mankey at lvl 9.

Nidoran learns double kick at lvl 12 roughly, and that attack works wonders on both geodude and onix.

With the current team you have it impossible to defeat brock. To get past him they are tree main ways.
1. Catch a caterpie or metapod (virdinian forest) and train it till it eveolves and learns confusion
2. Catch a nidoran, male or female,(highest levels are directly south of pewter city) and train it to lv.12 when it learns double kick
3. Catch a Mankey (west of virdinian city) and train to at least lv.9 whwn it learns low kick

While it's easiest to do it the ways mentioned above, you'd be surprised what a few solid stat moves can do. It's the long way round, but I was able to beat Brock when my highest level Pokemon were a level 10 Pikachu and a level 10 Pidgey. Designate two of your Pokemon as "sacrifices" and have them moves like Leer and Growl to reduce the defense and attack of Brock's Pokemon (attack first, so that the Pokemon can actually do their job). After that, while it won't be easy, it shouldn't be an issue to bring him down. Use potions when necessary.

When your in Viridian city, go to the path on the left as if you were going to the Pokemon league. In the grassy areas you should be able to find a mankey. (Fighting is super effective agabst rock)

I just beat it using a level 16 Pikachu,level 12 Pidgey(Didn't use him),level 8 Mankey(Just used leer)and level 4 rattata (used tail whip)
I just had Pikachu use Double team and then Quick Attack

Just get a mankey and raise it to level 9 so it knows low kick and raise it a bit more about level 11

Train your pokÃ©mon to be level 15. Then it could learn a more affective move. Grass and bug type also are good. I had the same problem.
