Possibly it's because it's japanese and your other games are english or the japanese version you got is messed up

If your like me and you have a real Pokemon green and red, DON'T TRADE POKEMON. Once you have traded them, they will either become Missingno.s or glitched up! It's because of the region code and the fact that Pokemon green is japanese. Be careful out there Pokemon fans ;)
