Question for Pokemon Gold

I have been searching for a Heracross for four solid days on Routes 29, 30, 31, 32 & 33. I've already read some answers on catching Heracross, so I already know that they are found by headbutting 'Mountain trees', and another answer said that they could be found on ANY route between cities.

Incase you think I've mis-interpreted the headbutt thing, I'll let you know that I am NOT just having my character run into the trees to make that weird thumping noise that he makes when he hits an obstacle, I'm actually using the pokemon-learned move 'Headbutt' which is given to you as TM02 in Ilex Forest.

This question is: Where is the best place to find a Heracross (i.e. Where do they show up the most). Is Heracross a super rare creature, is it difficult to catch when you do find it and if it is, Are there any tips for a successful capture. Please be specific.

If you have ever seen a Heracross, use your pokedex to see what area it's in and headbut the trees there.Happy hunting.

Honestly I found that Pokemon in the trees of the first grass area right when you leave newbark town. It took me a while but I found it. Trust me it's there. Oh and it will be at level 10 by the way

If you have seen a heracross before then check your pokedex and headbutt trees in the area that it says it's in.If you haven't then it's by random luck. To answer your second question Heracross is a rare and difficult Pokemon to catch. I suggest a Pokemon that knows hypnosis or false swipe. P.S. Bring a lot of great balls ultra balls etc.

The pokedex doesn't show it could be found

I think in the afternoon it shows when you headbutt the trees

I need help as well getting a heracross in Pokemon silver.I have been looking for 4 months but no heracross.Anyone have tips?

Okay so on route 29 below the building that leads to route 46 there is a cuttable tree and 3 headbutt trees in a backwards L shape... The top one has heracross after every 2-3 times using headbutt. WORKED ALL THE TIME.
Male heracross tend to flee.
