What town can you link to the past in because whenever I try to link to yellow version it says I can't link to the past here

You can trade with the past in every city. Its just you have to meet Bill in Ecruteak City first.(in the poke centre)

You can link to the past anywhere once you have talked to Bill in the Eucratack Pokemon Center (Assuming you don't trade new Pokemon and new moves)

Well first you have to meet bill in Ecruteak then you can use the time travel trade thing. Plus you can't have anything traded to the past that wasn't in the past like new Pokemon, or new items or Pokemon holding items.

Any Town, in Gold/Silver go to a pokecenter and go to the second floor, then go all the way east to find the girl! You said you had Yellow version? It might not let you trade Pikachu and he always follows you, so that might have something to do with it, if thats not it I gots no clue

You have to take out every pokemon in your party that is not found in R/B/Y.

You ve to go to a town which was in the yellow version so I would say viridian.
