I just bought the bike. Is there a certain time you can use it? Whenever I try to get on it won't let me, it says "You can't get off here" like I'm already on it or something, and I *think* the music is the bike music (haven't played in years, can't really remember...)

<BR>It's just really annoying having to walk everywhere when I have a bike!! Should I save up and buy a new one?

Just go to the start button and pick your bike and it should work.

Hey it's me - the question poster:

-I have tried going to: START, ITEM, BICYCLE *every*where (caves, towns, routes, even inside) and it still says, "You can't get off here."
-There is no bike music, only area music.
-I have tried storing it in a PC and getting it later to see if it worked. No deal. -I have stored it in a PC and then walked to a different town to get it out and see if it worked. Nope. -I have taken out the cartridge and put it back in - nada. -I'm not even AT bike road yet - only at Badge 3 (I just got the bike).

I can't think of anything else to try! Do I just have a really old game cartridge? Has this never happened to anyone before?

You can't buy a new bike you can only get a bike if you get a voutcher from the old man in vermilioncity I know I have tried I had as mutch money as you can hold but I still needed $1 you can only hold $99999 you need $100000. Submitted by:forilla

Try going down cycle path cus it throws you onto your bike automatically

My girlfriend encountered the same problem when she started Pokemon again after a few years. She just got the bike and gets the 'You can't get off here' message when she tries to use it.

Has anyone found a solution to the problem yet?

To the question poster: how did you solve this? Did you continue your game or did you start over? If you continued to play, could you get past cycling road? Did anything change when you passed this point in the game?

To me it looks like the game has a mode error: it thinks it is in bike mode, on cycling road. It could be that when you go to the point in the game where this mode is true, the game is reset as soon as you leave the bike road. That would mean that the bike works after you leave cycling road behind.

My girlfriend just went on playing without using her bike, and when she got to Celadon city and tried the bike again there was no problem. It's a weird bug, and probably very rare since I couldn't find any other place online that had the bug documented. I'm glad the problem solved itself. I hope this post is useful for others with the same problem. My advice, keep playing and try the bike every once in a while.

This is what I did to fix it. I used Dig inside the Diglett Cave. I hope this works for you as well.
