Chained Echoes Beginner Tips and Tricks
Chained Echoes Beginner Tips and Tricks

Listed below are several Beginner Tips and Tricks which will help you in Chained Echoes.

Stay in Overdrive

The party will be in perfect synergy when it reaches the green area and will be in a state called Overdrive. Always try to stay in Overdrive because doing so ensures the party deals more damage, takes less damage and only needs to spend half the amount of TP on skills.

Defeat Enemies in Battle for Rewards

When you defeat enemies in battle in Chained Echoes you will earn the following rewards.

- Skill points used to upgrade skills.

- Materials that can be used to upgrade weapons.

- Loot that can be sold for money or to unlock new Deals.

You will be shown the loot you have earned when you defeat an enemy but you will not receive it until after the battle.

One Shot Monsters

Having Glenn and Lenne as a combo will enable you to one shot most monsters in Chained Echo. If you have Glen use Oil Strike while Leane uses Third Eye. Then follow the next turn with Lenne's Flame Spear you will be able to do over 1000 damage.

Upgrade Weapons and Armor

The weapons and armor in Chained Echoes come in 10 ranks and each can be upgraded twice. It is important that you are continually grabbing collectables and fighting enemies whenever possible as every upgrade you get will help. Keep in mind that a piece of equipment upgraded twice will usually be more effective than an upgraded piece of equipment that is a higher rank.

Use Crystals to Boost Stats of Equipment

Crystals can be obtained from red crystal sources across each map, and they can be slotted into equipment to boost its stats. Gear in Chained Echoes starts with 2 slots for crystals and with each upgrade it will gain an additional slot. These gems can also be combined in order to obtain Rank V or higher versions of the equipment you are upgrading. There are though a few limits you must consider when combining crystals.

- The base crystal must have a purity of 1 or more (this goes down by 1 every time you combine another gem into it)

- The fuse crystal must be the same type as the base (rank doesn't matter)

- The fuse crystal must not be one that's already been combined before (this is marked by an asterisk)

When you equip multiple of the same type, either on the same piece of gear or across your character's weapon and armor you will be able to get higher ranks of that effect.

Explore Everywhere

Make sure you take the time to explore each town, overworld area, or dungeon you head through on your journey as there will always be red chests to find that will contain equipment or key items. There will also be regular chests that will have useful items and money and in some of the areas there are hidden caves and buried treasure for you to discover.

Earn Grimoire Shards to Unlock Powerful Skills Early

Competing objectives on the Reward Board will give you money, SP, and items. When you create a chain of completed objectives you will be rewarded Grimoire Shards and Sacred Water. Getting hold of Grimoire Shards early in the game will enable you to unlock powerful skills that would be impossible to get if you just followed the story.
