Where to Find the Spicy Red Berry in Detective Pikachu Returns

Detective Pikachu Returns is an adventure game that is a sequel to 2016's Detective Pikachu for the Nintendo 3DS. The game takes place in Ryme City, reuniting Pikachu with his partner Tim Goodman while solving mysteries and 'discovering the origins of the great detective Pikachu'. Where to Find the Spicy Red Berry

The Fabled Aurora in Detective Pikachu Returns is the third of six chapters and revolves around the Aurora Drop, a valuable gem that was stolen when someone broke into the Jewel Storage Room of the Denis residence in Serenity Park. As you work the case you will eventually be tasked with tracking down a 'spicy red Berry' which is essential for completing the Passimian statues puzzle in Southern Ruins and opening up the Aegislash door.

Unlike the yellow and blue Berries for the other two Passimian statues which were found on trees, you will not find a spicy red Berry anywhere in the Southern Ruins because the fruit has already been completely picked from the region. In order to get your hands on one you must speak to Professor Gordon's assistant, Chris Honor. You will be able to find this researcher at camp stirring a pot of curry in front of the temple ruins entrance. If you approach him you will be given an option to ask him about the missing berries. Chris will then reveal that you are looking for Tamato Berries.

If you look to the left of the ruin entrance you will notice a tree with no Berries. If you now open your journal and have Tim Goodman enter the deduction phase on the 'What spicy, red Berry should we place on the middle statue?' flowchart. Choose the 'A spicy, red Tamato Berry' option. After solving the question, you will have to find a substitute. Speak to Chris Honor again and select the 'Substitute for a Tamato Berry?' option. The research assistant will then offer up a curry dish that he made from the spicy red berries that he brought with him.

Now that you have the curry made from Tamato Berries you need to open your journal and answer the 'We don't have the right berry – what should we do?' notes flowchart question. Select the 'Substitute the Tamato Berry curry instead option'. You will now be able to re-enter the temple, where you can put the curry plate in the hands of the middle Passimian statue. Once you have done this you will have solved the puzzle and opened the Aeiglash door.
