Who are the Villains in the New PS4 Spider-Man Game?

Spider-Man is scheduled to be released exclusively on PS4 in 2018. At the moment relatively little is known about this open world game set in Manhattan but a new gameplay demo showcased at this years E3 reveals what we can expect with it showing spidey stalking goons from high atop the rafters, silently picking them off and webbing them up one by one. Developed by Insomniac Games, the company that brought us Resistance, Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank it is the first spidey game not to have been made by Activision in nearly 20 years. In case you're wondering, the game has absolutely nothing to do with the new Spider-Man Homecoming movie out later this year.

Spider-Man Gameplay from E3 2017

At the moment it is unclear who the villains are in this Spider-Man game with only the Green Goblin, King Pin, and Mister Negative the leader of the Demons gang being confirmed as definately appearing. Since Spider-Man's first appearance in the Marvel comic Amazing Fantasy #1 in 1962 the web slinger has built up a rogues gallery of supervillain no other comic character, with maybe the exception of Batman can match. Listed below in no particular order are his top 5 foes which most fans would love to see appear in the new Spider-man game.

Doctor Octopus

Otto Octavius is Doctor Octopus, a mad scientist who controls telepathically four powerful, mechanical appendages fused to his body. Octavius was once a brilliant and respected nuclear physicist, inventor, and lecturer until an accidental radiation leak that ended in an explosion fused the apparatus to his body and made him obsessed with killing Spider-Man.

Electro

Maxwell Dillon is Electro, an electrical engineer and lineman who after a freak accident where he was struck by lightning while working on a power line is transformed into a human generator that is able to project blasts of lightning from his body, as well as create force-fields and manipulate electrical devices.

Vulture

Adrian Toomes is the Vulture, an elderly electronics engineer who creates an anti-magnetic harness that enables him to fly at high speeds and grants him superhuman strength. Although Toomes is advanced in age, he is a strong fighter and a remorseless killer.

Lizard

Curt Connors is the Lizard, a genetic biologist who is obsessed with researching the ability of certain reptiles to regrow missing limbs, partially to find a way to regenerate his right arm which he lost in an explosion while serving his country. After a test on himself, he transforms into a violent reptilian monster that is able to revert to his human form.

Sandman

Flint Marko is the Sandman, a criminal who while seeking refuge from the police on a beach near a nuclear test site gains the ability to transform his body into a malleable, sand-like substance that can be hardened, dispersed or shaped according to his will when an experimental reactor's steam system explodes and bombards him with a massive dose of radiation that blends his genes together with the sand on the beach.
