Strongest Sun and Moon Pokemon
Tapu Koko
It is at this point that there will be no more non-legendary Pokemon on our list, not even the final evolution of the Starter Pokemon, as only Legends, Mythical Pokemon, and Ultra Beasts now make the cut. And we begin with Tapu Koko, the obvious choice for best Island Guardian Deity. Much like Midday Lycanroc, the main reason it ranks better than its other Island Deities, Koko actually has impressive speed, sitting at a Base of 130. It is so quick, not like many Pokemon in Alola, with enough of an Attack Stat and various movepool to cause some real damage. If built right, Koko can easily be a sweeper. It also has decent defensive powers; not the best, but certainly not the worst.
Solgaleo
Much like every other Cover/Mascot Legend, Solgaleo is one of the best of its given region. Solgaleo has decent speed that backs up its impressive Attack Stat. It also as pretty darn high defenses that makes it pretty bulky. It even has a great and vast movepool that could make it an offensive powerhouse or defensive tank. But what makes Solgaleo better among many others is its unique ability. With it, NOTHING can lower Solgaleo's Stats or Increased Stats. Not a Pokemon's ability, not a certain move used, NOTHING can lower its stats. Solgaleo always makes for one tough defeat, especially since it can be used in a variety of ways.
Lunala
Just like Solgaleo, Lunala is one of the best found from Alola. It might not be as great as Solgaleo in the grand scheme of things, but this creature certainly shouldn't be taken likely. Like Solgaleo, Lunala has more than enough speed to take care of business. Lunala also has great offensive and defensive capacities, meaning it too can be used as a sweeper or staller. Lunala also has a great ability, one that works just like Multiscale. With it, when Lunala is hit with a move at full HP, the move will only deal half as much damage. This essentially allows Lunala to try to bolster its stats on a free move, then either stall with a few moves or start sweeping the other team. Lunala is scary at full power, just like its counterpart, Solgaleo.
Passimian should not be here, yes I know about Bisharp and sure he may have similar stats, but that was not the point of Bisharp, the point of Bisharp was that he had access to STAB sucker punch to do huge damage with priority and steel typing to remove annoyances like sylveon, due to being a fighting type, Passimian is next to useless due to its low speed no matter what its attack and defences are. It can easily be outdone. If you're looking for a good fighting type stick to lucario or scrafty, something that knows what its doing and what its meant to do so can take down the bulky normal types.
Personally, I disagree with most of this list. This article contains many mistakes/typos.(Magearna's shift gear boosts speed, not gear grind.)Secondly, you wrote that magearna threatens complete zygarde. I suggests quite the contrary: Complete Zygarde is bulky enough to survive magearna's fleur cannon most of the time, and will knock out magearna with earthquake since it is faster. Also, Xurkitree, in my opinion, does not deserve the number two spot as it is heavily outclassed by tapu koko. Xurkitree does have high special attack, but Tapu Koko's electric eerrain-boosted attacks also reach that level. Xurkitree also suffers from the fact that it cannot function well without a choice scarf or it risks being eliminated by dugtrio, which Tapu Koko beats easily. Running a choice scarf on Xurkitree makes it susceptible to gound types, or incredibly weak to Alolan Marowak due to lightning rod, and the fact that it resists Xurk's coverage. Tapu Koko can pivot out of Alolan Marowak with uturn.
Great article, helped me decide my team for the game!
